The farm, from seed to product

One family, one olive mill and the land of Pianella: since 1917 we grow and process what we bring to your table.

Azienda Agrituristica Scorrano lies in the hills of Pianella, in the province of Pescara, halfway between the mountains and the sea. We personally follow the whole chain, from seed to packaging, according to the principles of organic farming and with respect for biodiversity.

Complete supply chain

We grow the raw material, process it and package it on the farm. We bring it directly to you in our farm shop and at farmers’ markets.

Organic farming

Crop rotation and diversification, no preservatives or additives in our processed products: only fresh, healthy, selected ingredients.

Abruzzo tradition

Family recipes and ancient local varieties, preserved and shared with those who visit us: families, schools and travellers.

Freshly bottled olive oil in the Scorrano mill

The family olive mill

Where the oil is made as it was a century ago

In 1917 Giuseppe Scorrano bought the old farmhouse and the 1880 olive mill that are still the home of the farm today. Here we keep the traditional granite millstones alongside a modern continuous-cycle extraction plant, and store the oil in stainless steel tanks under nitrogen to preserve its colour, body and fruitiness.

With special care we recover and protect the specialities of our land: the Pera d’Abruzzo tomato, emmer, Solina wheat and the Sclucchijata Montepulciano grape jam.

Farm visits and tastings

By reservation we organise farm visits for families, travellers and schools: a walk through the olive groves and fields, a visit to the mill and a tasting of our products.
